This ensemble is a combination of 18th century and modern day fashion made from purple and hunter green Taffeta. The corset is fully boned and lined with poplin. The skirt has a front slit and a back closure, and is lined with silk. Peacock feathers have been applied by hand to the front of the corset and frame the slit of the skirt.

Is the peacock real? Well...of course it's real...I mean, is it alive or is it a taxidermy bird? Ugh...sounds so mean... :dohtwo: I've been designing and redesigning my dream wedding gown for last few years...and the design involves a corseted bodice, swag off-the-shoulder sleeves made of some light, sheer fabric...maybe organza... And a long skirt with a train and whole peacock feathers along the back, with the train, like a peacock's tail. I had drawn pictures of it awhile back...I'll have to redo them and post them in my gallery...

I love your peacock stuff, by the way. LOVE

How do you apply the feathers? Do you just stitch them down around the center rib of the feather? What sort of thread do you use? What sort of stitch?
